Top attractions in London
Whether you're a culture wizard, shopaholic or a first-rate foodie, London is your town. The city is home to over 70 Michelin-starred restaurants, contains four UNESCO World Heritage Sites, as well as the beautiful Royal Botanical Gardens, which holds the world's largest living plant collection. You'll also find 150 ancient monuments, 900 bookstores and over 32,000 musical performances that take place every year.
Visit the world-famous British Museum, the Tate Modern, the National Gallery, the Victoria & Albert, or many of the other museums and galleries. If you go to the London Eye, you'll get a great view of the city, an absolute must-do for first-time visitors. Some of Europe's most fascinating markets are in London. Check out the Portobello Market for antiques or the Old Spitalfields Market if you're on the lookout for young designers. If you're travelling with children, we recommend the Science Museum.
When travelling to London Stansted you’ll find yourself halfway between Central London and the historical town of Cambridge, which is home to the world-renowned University of Cambridge (founded in 1209), and legendary progressive rock band Pink Floyd (founded in 1965), to name a few random things. Cambridge is also a wonderful city of over 130,000 people.
To make the most of this scenic town try “punting” on the river Cam, which for us non-Cantabrigians, is calm sailing on a little boat with a long stick. Think picturesque romance or the English version of gondolas in Venice.
Depending on the time of year, we recommend checking out festivals like The Strawberry Fair or The Cambridge Beer Festival and if the mood strikes you, sit beneath a descendant of Sir Isaac Newton’s apple tree and think about gravity.
